Corrosion

Electrochemical noise has become popular as a new method of corrosion detection and prevention. ZAHNER has developed the CorrElNoise® technique, the first method to obtain both, potential noise and current noise from one electrochemical source.

PP242

The PP242 is a 4-quadrant power potentiostat designed to apply and sink high currents up to ±40 A at a voltage range of up to ±5 V. The total power dissipation of the PP242 is 200 W.

The PP-Series potentiostats are controlled by an EPC42, a plug-in module for the ZENNIUM-series potentiostats. Due to the built-in microprocessor, each EPC42 card can address up to four PPSeries potentiostats. Up to four EPC42 cards can be installed in an ZENNIUM-series potentiostat. In total, up to 16 PPs can be controlled by one ZENNIUM series potentiostat. Each potentiostat will hold the control parameters from one access to the next one, so that no potential or current disturbances can occur while scanning the potentiostats. If series measurements are performed with more than one PP-Series potentiostat, spectra are taken from all modules in a definable order.

The PP-Series is embedded completely in the ZENNIUM environment. Thus, all acquisition and analysis techniques that run on the ZENNIUM series potentiostats can be applied with the power potentiostats as well. The installation of one or more PP-Series potentiostat will upgrade your ZENNIUM to an even more versatile, high-current capable potentiostat.

Stand-alone operation: The PP-series potentiostat can also be used as a stand-alone potentiostat and can be used for standard DC measurements i.e., charging/discharging of batteries. Zahner's new Zahner-Lab software is used to control the potentiostat during the stand-alone operations.

The Zahner's power potentiostats can be incorporated in a python lab environment and can be used as stand-alone or in multi-channel configurations. Zahner's python repository is available for developing the python program.
