CIMPS IPCE

The CIMPS IPCE is an extension to the CIMPS system and includes a tuneable light source (TLS). The CIMPS-IPCE allows IPCE measurements besides standard electrochemical and photoelectrochemical techniques possible with the CIMPS system. The LEDs in TLS with a monochromator provide a wavelength resolution down to 1 nm in visible light range for IPCE measurements.

Tuneable light source

The TLS contains up to 25 or 29 LEDs depending upon the TLS type (without or with UV extension). The TLS also contains a white background light which may be used for the solar cells or photoelectrode with high light intensity threshold for photocurrents. The effect of the constant white background light is eliminated from the IPCE results.

Accessories (LEB)

Photoelectrochemical measurements are carried out in a controlled light environment. For this purpose, Zahner designed a light exclusion box (LEB). This LEB can accommodate the PECC cells and the TLS. The LEB also works as a Faraday cage and diminish artefacts for low current measurements.
