EIS Multiplexer for Battery Cycler

Battery cyclers are built for charge and discharge testing but cannot record impedance, which leaves state of health (SoH) and degradation only partly characterized. Adding electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) to an existing cycling setup captures internal resistance and aging markers without interrupting the test program, making it practical for long-term cycle-life studies on many cells in parallel.

Zahner’s BC-MUX can be combined with any battery cyclers to extend the functionality of the cycling setup and enable EIS measurements on batteries.

A single BC-MUX can be connected to up to 16 cells/batteries, allowing EIS measurements to be performed sequentially on all connected channels. The BC-MUX can also be equipped with relay switches to galvanically isolate each battery from the cycler before the EIS measurement.

The BC-MUX can be controlled via C++, Python, or WebSockets and can be integrated with virtually any battery cycler.
